Description: When it comes to finding the best insurance rate an online quote is not always the best option consider talking to your local insurance broker.
Everybody who drives knows what pain it is to get an insurance quote. Everywhere you look on TV, radio, and even printed magazines you keep hearing to go online and save on car insurance. Well, I have to tell you that finding the right auto insurance quote online is not an easy task. Almost all the forms you need to fill out are full of technical questions that the average person doesn’t know. It is for this reason why so many people are either over insured or under insured.
Sure, finding a website to get an auto insurance quote online is easy but finding the right insurance is substantially more difficult especially if you’re seeking the cheapest auto insurance rates. Although many people still prefer to do business online, I am a little bit more old-school, I like to go and see my insurance broker. After all finding auto insurance in Miami Lakes is not at all that difficult.
I find myself wasting more time browsing the Internet than just walk in and getting service by a professional who knows what they’re doing. One of the main issues I have with an online insurance quote is the amount of information you have to disclose to get the right deal. All of this websites ask for some very personal and private information such as zip code, marital status, car’s safety features, and annual commuting miles, by default insurance companies will quote you a higher auto insurance rate that is why dealing with a broker who knows you is a better deal. Brokers also seem to have a better perspective as to how to get each discount that you qualify.
Also, maybe it is just me, but it seems like all of this websites are talking to each other because if you shop around, it seems like the price is pretty much the same. They have a tendency to re-word some of the terminologies, but at the end of the day, it all sound the same.
One thing I never understood is why are insurance companies putting so much emphasis on your ZIP code. I think that drivers should get judged on their driving experience and driving record I don’t see how a zip code where you have a lot of young people prone to car accidents has to do anything with your particular driving skills and or driving history. I mean can you imagine having a perfect driver record for over 30 years and then all of a sudden moving to Miami Lakes, Florida and having you insurance rate double just because the ZIP code you live in, that doesn’t make any sense at all!
However, it is the way insurance companies operate. Yes, yes it is all a sham but one that nobody seems to have the guts to fix. We definitely cannot expect politicians to step in and start holding insurance companies accountable for their practice and their rates. With that in mind, the only option we have is to continue to shop around for the best insurance rate possible.
